North Iowa Choral Society
North Iowa Choral Society was founded in 1994 under the direction of Robert A. Davis and is a semi-professional audition-only SATB adult choral group – one of the “faces” of NIACC. The group performs both sacred and secular music from various genres (classics, spirituals, musical theatre, jazz, swing, blues, etc.) in various venues. The group has performed at Iowa Choral Directors Conventions, the Choral Symposium, KCMR Live Christmas Concerts, Waldorf Performing Arts Series, and as seasoned performers in NIACC’s Performing Arts Series in concert with Shirley Jones and biennial Candlelight Christmas Concerts.
The Choral Society is an adult auditioned choir that is sponsored by North Iowa Area Community College and rehearses on Sunday evenings from September through April from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the NIACC vocal music room.
Exciting news! NIACC offers college credit for membership in NICS and continuing education credit for members in the vocal education community.
