From November 2nd to 5th, a group of six members from the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) Club participated in the 40th National CEO Conference held in Tampa, Florida. Among the attendees were the co-presidents of the club, the secretary, the social media officer, individuals who participated in NIACC’s Youth Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA) summer program, and other dedicated members.
The conference was hosted at the Grand Hyatt in Tampa Bay, Florida, with the entirety of the event held at the hotel, except for a night social gathering hosted at the University of Tampa.
During the National Conference our students seized valuable opportunities to engage with fellow passionate entrepreneurs, converse with accomplished professionals from various industries across the United States, attend enlightening breakout sessions, and glean insights from keynote speakers, thereby acquiring comprehensive knowledge about the intricacies of entrepreneurship.
It is worth noting the unique position of the NIACC CEO Club within this esteemed organization. Unlike the majority of CEO clubs who are affiliated with universities or four-year institutions, our club represents a community college. Remarkably, amidst almost 100 chapters in attendance, our students only encountered two other clubs associated with community colleges. Furthermore, the privilege of attending the National Conference is typically reserved for junior and senior club members. Our very own NIACC CEO Club not only secured attendance for six members but also welcomed half of them as new additions to the club this semester.
The mission of the NIACC CEO chapter is to inform, support and inspire college students to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation. CEO club provides student entrepreneurs with opportunities, events, chapter activities, and conferences to help start businesses. CEO club strives to provide an entrepreneurial ecosystem to enrich lives through comprehensive educational opportunities, a commitment to learner success, community engagement, and leadership.
