Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
& Trauma Nursing Core Course(TNCC)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program is developed by the AAP and is designed for healthcare providers who routinely assist in the resuscitation of neonatal patients.
Trauma Nurse Core Course is developed by the ENA and is designed for healthcare providers who participate in the care of trauma patients.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program – (NRP)
This course provides participants with the opportunity to discuss and demonstrate neonatal resuscitation skills. It includes an overview and principles of resuscitation, initial steps, use of devices, chest compressions, intubation, LMA insertion, medications, special considerations, resuscitation of the pre-term baby, and end of life ethics and care. Course follows American Academy of Pediatrics and AHA guidelines. The skills portion of NRP is approved for 2.0 Contact Hours for nurses, 2 CEH’s for EMS providers. Other health care personnel will receive a CE certificate reflecting 2 hours of education. NIACC is Iowa Board of Nursing Provider #3 and State Department of Health Emergency Medical services approved sponsor #2 of continuing education programs for EMS Personnel.

Pre-Course Overview
Students must complete the 8th Edition ADVANCED NRP Provider Curriculum prior to attending the Instructor-Led Event. To schedule your Instructor-Led Event, please contact the NIACC Continuing Education Department at 641-422-4358. Students must complete the Instructor-Led Event within 90 days of completing the online ADVANCED NRP Provider Curriculum.

Note: NRP provider status is maintained by taking an NRP Provider course every two years. There is no Renewal Course.
Trauma Nursing Core Course 2 Day Provider Class – (TNCC)
ENA developed and implemented the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) for national and international dissemination as a means of identifying a standardized body of trauma nursing knowledge. The TNCC Provider course is a two day course designed to provide the learner with cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills. The purpose of TNCC is to present core-level knowledge, refine skills and build a firm foundation in trauma nursing. TNCC is approved for 16 CEH’s for EMS providers.
