North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) is an approved EMS training program through the IDPH Bureau of Emergency and Trauma Services and is authorize to approve and issue continuing education hours (CEHs) for Emergency Medical Services in North Central Iowa. NIACC welcomes the opportunity to work with area EMS services to provide continuing education hours for courses conducted at the local service level for both basic and advanced EMS providers.
Each CEH Program requires a $40 fee. Payment may be submitted to NIACC or host service will be billed.
1) Below is the application for EMS continuing education hours. It is requested that you submit the application form at least 14 days prior to the continuing education offering to allow adequate time to review the application, validate the course, and distribute registration rosters and evaluations. Any request submitted within 14 days of the offering will be assessed an additional $20.00 late fee. Programs submitted after the offering will be denied formal continuing educational credit per Iowa code.
2) Upon approval of a CEH program a course roster, evaluations and directions for completing the program will be emailed to the contact person listed on this application.
3) After course completion you must email the completed registration roster and evaluations back within fourteen (14) days of the course. Failure to do so will result in denial of CEHs and a fee of $30.
4) Following receipt of the roster and evaluations showing program completion, a copy of the attendance roster with sponsor number will be e-mailed to the contact person. This is to be kept on file by the host service. Certificates of completion will not be mailed.
