Step 2
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The FAFSA is the starting point for all students to apply for Federal and State financial aid and can be found online at studentaid.gov. Be sure to list NIACC as a school to receive the results of your application. NIACC’s Federal School Code is 001877.
Award funds in many federal and state programs are limited. To be considered for these types of aid, your application must be received at the processing center by March 1. To be considered for the state programs for the 2024-2025 academic year, submit your application by July 1.
NIACC offers free assistance in completing your FAFSA. For more information contact the NIACC Financial Aid Office at 641-422-4168 or Admissions Office at 641-422-4245.
Step 3
Watch for a FAFSA Submission Summary in your mail or email after submitting your application
By listing NIACC on your FAFSA form, the NIACC Financial Aid Office will automatically receive a copy of your Summary.
Step 4
The NIACC Financial Aid Office will begin processing your financial aid offer and determine what you are eligible to receive
Financial aid forms necessary to process your FAFSA results will be mailed directly to you by NIACC.
Forward all requested forms and documentation to the NIACC Financial Aid Office. Once your aid has been processed, you will receive a financial aid offer. Log on to your TrojanHome Portal to review and accept your offer.
