Hampton
Through a collaborative venture of a task force on economic development, local individuals, groups and government entities, Center 1 was founded in Hampton to unite city and county community development efforts under one roof. Through a cooperative agreement with the Hampton-Dumont Community School District, NIACC offers a local community education program.
A coordinator’s office and a classroom are located in Center 1, which was leased and opened on September 1, 1987, and dedicated on October 19 of that year. Classes are offered at various convenient locations including the high school, other school buildings, Franklin General Hospital, and the National Guard Armory. Local sites for classes over the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) include the armory, the high school and the hospital.
