The Pritchard Broadway Series proudly presents The Illusionists – Live From Broadway™ at the North Iowa Community Auditorium on the NIACC campus at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018. This presentation is part of the 2018-2019 Performing Arts and Leadership Series.
On the heels of a highly successful multi-city tour and run on Broadway, the world’s best-selling touring magic show, The Illusionists – Live From Broadway™, is on the road for a North American tour! Full of hilarious magic tricks, death-defying stunts, and acts of breathtaking wonder, The Illusionists has shattered box office records worldwide and thrilled audiences of all ages. This mind-blowing spectacular showcases the jaw-dropping talents of five of the most incredible illusionists on earth.
Darcy Oake, The Grand Illusionist, transports audiences with his charm, sleight of hand, and logic-defying illusions. In 2014, Oake had his breakout appearance before 200 million viewers on Britain’s Got Talent where Simon Cowell declared, “We are witnessing the birth of a star.”
He went on to make a guest appearance on America’s Got Talent and was further honored to be a part of Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday celebration where he performed before the Royal Family at a private dinner.
Jeff Hobson, The Trickster, is the epitome of glamor and showmanship. He parlayed an audition at the famed comedy club Catch a Rising Star (at Bally’s Casino) into numerous headlining engagements. Don’t be fooled by his innocent appearance; Jeff has audiences laughing long after the curtain goes down. Because of his refreshing and clever mix of comedy and magic, he is one of today’s most in-demand magicians. The Academy of Magical Arts awarded Hobson with Stage Magician of the Year and he received the Best Comedy Magic award from the International Magic Awards Association.
The Deductionist Colin Cloud is a forensic scientist who mixes mind magic and brain science with his love of Arthur Conan Doyle’s works, resulting in him being described as the closest thing in the universe to the real life Sherlock Holmes. He has performed for professional skeptics like Penn and Teller, and even wowed the hard-to-please Simon Cowell. In 2014, he became the runaway success of the Edinburgh Comedy Festival Fringe with 23 sold out performances and multiple 5 star reviews.
An Ha Lim, aka The Manipulator, is a man of few words but many awards. His accolades include 1st prize at the 2006 Kora Busan International Magic Competition, 2006 Italy Club Convention, and the 2007 World Magic Seminar. His other awards include the Golden Lion Award at the 2008 World Magic Seminar, 2008 IBM/SAM Joint Convention Stage, 2009 FISM WCM Manipulation, and the 2009 Monte Carlo Magic Stars Special Guest Award.
The Daredevil Jonathan Goodwin is a British-born escape artist widely considered one of the most creative, skilled, and frankly crazy stunt performers in the world. Goodwin has been hanged, buried alive, hung by his toes from helicopters, burned at the stake, and attacked by sharks. He has starred in numerous TV series, been featured on 60 Minutes, and guested on the Jonathan Ross Show, Jimmy Kimmel, and Paul O’Grady Live.
