Presentation on Alzheimer’s Awareness To Be Held at NIACC
North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) will hold a presentation on Alzheimer’s Awareness on Wednesday, September 26, in the Muse-Norris Conference Center, Room 180ABC on the NIACC campus from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. The public is invited to attend this free event facilitated by Greg Woods, no registration is required. This presentation is sponsored by NIACC’s Lifelong Learning Institute.
Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, it’s time to learn the facts. This program provides information on detection, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment, and much more.
Greg Woods is the Program Specialist and Research Champion for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Greater Iowa Chapter. Greg has been with the Association for over two years after receiving his Master of Public Health degree from the University of Iowa. Prior to that, he received his bachelor’s in Neuroscience from Drake University and then spent three years in medical school at Iowa. He is based out of Fort Dodge and oversees 15 counties in north-central Iowa, helping with support groups, educational programming, planning for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and more.
