At NIACC, we are committed to supporting our students through every challenge, including the unprecedented impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), established by the federal government, provides crucial financial assistance to colleges and universities across the nation. This funding helps us ensure that our students can continue their education with minimal disruption. Since April 2020, HEERF grants have been dispersed in three stages: the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA), and the American Rescue Plan (ARP). These funds cover a wide range of needs, including tuition support, technology access, and other essential expenses. At NIACC, we are utilizing HEERF to enhance student success and resilience during these challenging times, ensuring that every member of our community has the resources they need to thrive.
