Lycke joins NIACC as Community Education Program Manage
Allison Lycke has joined North Iowa Area Community College as Community Education Program Manager based in Garner. She will succeed the position of Carol Peterson who retires Sept. 8.
Lycke will be based in the Garner Education Center, located at 325 8th Street in Garner. As Community Education Program Manager, she will coordinate educational course offerings in the communities of Belmond, Britt, Clear Lake, Garner, Forest City, Hampton, Lake Mills and Mason City.
“NIACC is known for its ongoing commitment to serving our communities here in North Iowa,” Lycke said. “I look forward to working with our local communities and school districts to continue NIACC’s efforts to provide a wide array of life enrichment courses and educational opportunities throughout the area.”
Lycke is a Grundy Center native and a 2006 graduate of Wartburg College. Her past professional experience included roles with Iowa Student Loan, the Iowa Bankers Association, Principal Financial Group and Broker Dealer Financial Services Corp. After living and working in the Des Moines area, Lycke and her husband chose to move to North Iowa in 2013. They now reside in Forest City with their three children.
“We love living here in North Iowa, and we’re grateful to be raising our family here,” she said.
North Iowa Area Community College provides a plethora of life enrichment courses to the people of North Iowa. Classes are held on the main campus in Mason City and at the College’s five outreach centers (Charles City, Garner, Hampton, Lake Mills, and Osage). Each outreach center has an advisory board comprised of local community members who provide insight for local education programming. NIACC also partners with local school districts and communities to enhance course offerings around the College’s service area.
