Thank You North Iowa! NIACC Performing Arts and Leadership Series Proudly Sponsors Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience for Main Street Mason City’s “Fridays on Main”
The NIACC Performing Arts and Leadership Series is proud to present Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience, a free event as part of Main Street Mason City’s “Fridays on Main” at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28th, 2017. This presentation is in recognition of the 2017-2018 20th Anniversary Season.
Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience is the nation’s most innovative and unique show utilizing the works of the Beatles. This amazing group, anchored by brothers Billy, Ryan and Matthew McGuigan, does away the worn out “tribute” format of bad wigs and fake accents. Instead, they perform as themselves – not impersonators – and connect with the audience through a shared passion for the music of The Beatles.
The McGuigan brothers appeared at the NIACC Auditorium in January, 2017. During that performance they had the audience dancing, singing, and having a great time. Audiences are excited to have them back in Mason City.
“Yesterday and today is not just about music. It’s about a legacy a father left his sons through his love of music and the Beatles. The show was fun entertaining and engaging. I’ve seen them twice in the last year and looking forward to seeing them again soon. This is a must-see! Actually, a must DO!” Jean Loes, Mason City.
Stars of Yesterday and Today, Billy, Ryan and Matthew McGuigan, originally from Largo, FL, were just 21, 18, and 15 years old in 1996 when their father, William McGuigan, passed away, after a difficult, but courageous battle with Leukemia.
Bill owned every Beatles album there was. Little did any of them know, their father’s passion for the Beatles and the time they spent together listening to the albums would turn out to be one of the greatest gifts a father could pass on to his children. Now, Billy, Ryan, and Matthew, have united their musical talents, charms and passion for performing to create the ultimate living tribute to the greatest man they’ve ever known.
Every night the songs change and the faces change. But one element always remains the same between the McGuigans and their fans: a mutual respect for why they are there. Whether it’s for the sheer love of the music, or to have a personal connection with it, either way, the McGuigan boys get to do what they love most – honoring the memory of their greatest hero.
