Congratulations to Leah Bormann and Cody Whitehurst, both of Mason City; they are the winners of North Iowa Area Community College’s Extreme Makeover: College Edition. Each will receive free NIACC tuition plus textbooks and more for the 2017-18 school year.

Bormann was excited to be selected as one of the winners. “This is an amazing opportunity for me and my family and I can’t wait to get started on my accounting degree. This will really help me and my family”

Whitehurst said, “There’s no way I could go to college without the Extreme Makeover scholarship. I’m really looking forward to going to school and start towards my goal of getting into the medical field, possibly radiology.”

The three other finalists –Francesca Garrett of Mason City, Dena Monson of Albert Lea, and Amanda Reinhart of Mason City will each receive half price tuition for the 2017-18 academic year.
