The North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) HVAC Program and Lennox Industries have created a new partnership to inform high school students, post high school students, veterans, and others that may be looking for a career change that NIACC is offering a great path to help solve the technician shortage in the well-paying HVAC industry. According to HVACR Workforce, by 2022 the industry will need more than 115,000 new employees.

In addition to donating state-of-the-art equipment, Lennox Industries has also offered training materials, tool discounts, controls, and the use of the local Field Technical Consultant to offer hands on training and more.

The public is invited to the formal announcement of the partnership on Wednesday, April 26 at 10:00 AM on the NIACC campus in the Buettner Careers Building, Room 121. Lennox officials, industry employers, educators and local community leaders will be in attendance. There will be a discussion on how manufacturers, dealers and educators are working to increase the awareness of the area’s need for trained HVAC technicians.
