They sing. They dance. They joke. The Tap Pack is a high energy, tap comedy show inspired by the infamous “Rat Pack” which included the famous talents of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr.
With dazzling performances on stage, dressed in slick suits and equipped with sharp wit, The Tap Pack is a modern twist on the classic Rat Pack featuring high-energy performances of mind-blowing tap dancing, smooth vocals, a swinging live band, and witty onstage banter. Starring five of Australia’s most talented performers, equipped with quick wit and sharp suits, these gentlemen mix up a cocktail of songs from Sinatra to Ed Sheeran, tap out red-hot rhythms and bring a new, invigorating energy to a timeless style the whole family can enjoy.
With credits on stage, film, television, and over 20 musical theatre productions between them, The Tap Pack is pure entertainment. The five-member cast wins the audience from the first downbeat, and the pace of their amazing performance never slows. They joke, they compete, they croon, and they cajole while performing cool classics with a fresh twist.
Jesse Rasmussen, Jordan Pollard, and Thomas J Egan, having been friends for many years, created The Tap Pack in 2013. The thought came about in a bar and was written down on a napkin – infuse the Rat Pack with tap dance. The idea leapt off the napkin, driven by passion and hard work. It started to morph itself into a show that was high energy, full of heart, and fostered its unique, Australian take on a classic era of song and dance.
Nigel Turner-Carroll jumped into the Pack as Director and Co-Creator and was steering the Pack towards its ultimate goal – tip a hat to the legends before us, celebrate our own individuality, and be as entertaining as possible! With Kym Halpin on board as Producer, The Tap Pack was ready to venture internationally. With the team complete with a stellar cast, the show has been seen in London, Berlin, Beijing, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, on the high seas, and all over Australia.
