Spring and Summer Short-Term Certificate Offerings through NIACC Continuing Education
NIACC Continuing Education is pleased to offer several short-term certificate offerings in the spring and summer of 2022.
Our NEW 8-week Fundamentals of Advanced Manufacturing certificate is designed to introduce and immerse students into multiple areas of the industry. Upon successful completion, students will have basic foundational knowledge of: measurement tools/instruments, shop math, safety in the workplace, hand tools and blueprint reading. They will have been introduced to basic concepts in welding, computer numerical control, robotics, 3D printers and employability skills. Classes start March 1, 2022.
Fundamentals of Construction is a 45-hour training designed to give students a hands-on experience through the building of a garden shed. Upon successful completion, students will have learned basic tool identification and usage, floor systems, site layout and preparation, basic blueprint reading, shingling and wall, ceiling and roof framing. We have 2 offerings with the first starting March 25, 2022 and the second June 20, 2022.
The Human Services Direct Support program prepares you for a rewarding, service-oriented career helping individuals and families. You’ll learn and develop valuable skills that can help you to move your career in Human Services forward while being an integral part of change in the lives of others. In 12-weeks, this certificate program connects you to local human services agencies and includes the following courses: Introduction to Ethics in Human Services, Introduction to Intellectual Disability and Mental Illness, Person-Centered Care, Rights of Those We Serve, Heartsaver Adult CPR-AED, Mental Health First Aid, Medication Manager, and Employment in Human Services. Classes start April 4, 2022.
The NEW Technology Integration Specialist Certificate will prepare you for your journey into the networking and integration world. In this certificate program, you will learn about a wide range of topics, from structured networking to computer design. At the completion of this program, you will be able to assemble and troubleshoot computers and servers, design and implement a structured network, manage and administrate servers and networks, and much more. Classes start May 10, 2022, and run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 pm.
