NIACC Announces 2018 – 2019 Performing Arts and Leadership Series
The 2018 – 2019 Performing Arts and Leadership series was announced today at North Iowa Area Community College on Monday, May 7th.
“We certainly are ‘Livin’ it Up!’ right here in North Iowa,” said Elizabeth Gales, Director of the NIACC Performing Arts and Leadership Series. “Together, we have experienced world leaders, Nobel Peace Prize winners, Tony Award-winning productions, Grammy- and Oscar-winning performers. We’ve had local musicians and actors as well as area students share the stage with legendary performers.”
“The College annually engages individuals in awe-inspiring discoveries and unforgettable experiences with an impressive slate of performances, speakers, and visual arts from around the globe,” Gales continues. “It is my pleasure to present the 2018 – 2019 Performing Arts and Leadership Series. Our series would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. I look forward to sharing this season with you.”
Current season ticket holders will be able to renew their tickets through May 23nd. New season ticket holders will be able to purchase new packages June 13th through July 3rd. Individuals may purchase single shows beginning July 10th.

Zak Ebrahim – Author of The Terrorist’s Son
Zak Ebrahim was born on March 24, 1983, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of an Egyptian industrial engineer and an American school teacher. When Ebrahim was seven, his father shot and killed the founder of the Jewish Defense League, Rabbi Meir Kahane. From behind bars, his father, El-Sayyid Nosair, co-masterminded the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Ebrahim spent the rest of his childhood moving from city to city, hiding his identity from those who knew of his father. He now dedicates his life to speaking out against terrorism and spreading his message of peace and nonviolence.
